EAST LANSING, Mich.— Michigan State University will hold commencement ceremonies for 2,562 candidates for degrees Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8.
All ceremonies will be held at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center on the corner of Harrison Road and Kalamazoo Street.
The advanced-degree ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Pioneer biologist Ian Wilmut will be the main speaker at this ceremony. A total of 538 master’s, 227 doctoral and 14 other advanced-degree students are candidates for degrees.
The Dec. 8 ceremonies are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
International business executive Peter Löscher will be the main speaker at the 10 a.m. ceremony. The undergraduate student speaker for this ceremony is TaJuanda M. Carter, of Southfield, a supply chain management major in the Eli Broad College of Business. This ceremony is for students in the James Madison College, the Eli Broad College of Business and the colleges of Arts and Letters, Education, Music and Social Science.
Former NASA astronaut Winston Scott will be the main speaker at the 2 p.m. ceremony. The undergraduate student speaker for the 2 p.m. ceremony is Jacquelene R. Foster, of Pinckney, an advertising major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. This ceremony is for students in the colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Communication Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Natural Science and Nursing.

The MSU College of Law will hold its commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 55 S. Harrison Road.
